Walking in the TRUTH…

WCCS

I can’t believe July is finally here!  The 2014-15 school year is right around the corner.  And, as of the posting of this blog, I can finally say that I am NOW the Head of School of Westminster Catawba Christian School.  I am so very excited to see what God will see fit to do in this upcoming year.  Over the next few weeks, we will be working diligently to prepare for the new year and I wanted to give you a preview of a theme that will drive me (and, hopefully, all of us) in the days to come!

My favorite Scripture passage is 3 John 4 which says, “I have no greater joy than to hear that my children are walking in the truth.”  This verse sums up my call to Christian education in general and to WCCS in particular.  The education of the next generation can be a daunting task.  The world has many goals for OUR children.  But, the Bible seems to have just one – to WALK IN THE TRUTH.  It can be phrased in different ways – to be a disciple or follower of Christ, to be a Christian (literally a “little Christ”), or even to glorify God and enjoy Him forever.  Our greatest joy should be realized when our children walk in the truth – even over times when they see success in the classroom or on the field or court or stage.

As we prepare for the 2014-15 school year – and beyond – I hope that you will join me in praying that this will be a reality for ALL of OUR children.  To HIM alone be the glory!
