Running in the truth???

I am working through Psalm 119 with our faculty, staff, and administration this year during our weekly devotional times. It has already been a great encouragement to me – and hopefully to them. As most know, this psalm is the longest chapter in the Bible with twenty-two eight-verse stanzas. Each stanza is its own thought/meditation on the Word of God. We were looking at verses 25-32 this week – and focused on the last verse: “I will run in the way of your commandments when you enlarge my heart!” As one who as written about having our greatest joy to see our children walking in the truth (3 John 4), I was particularly encouraged to think about “running” in the truth (the way of your commandments). If walking in the truth brings joy, then running in the truth ought to do the same – and maybe more. But, this verse (Ps 119:32) tells us what is necessary for us to run in the truth! It takes GOD to work – to enlarge our hearts. He must fill us with Himself FIRST. Then, and only then, we can/should/WILL run in the truth.

That is what I want for my own children as well as the students under my care. I want them to run in the truth. SO, I must be praying that God would be working in them, and I have to rely on God to do it. My teaching them to walk/run in the truth will only be effective when God works in them and through them. My greatest desire is that our children grow in their relationship with Christ every single day. Some have more growing to do than others. But, we all have room for growth. Let’s pray that God would enlarge hearts, and then look to give HIM all the praise and glory when those who are filled with Him run in the truth!

On another quick note, I am pleased to announce that the WCCS Student Newsletter is going to blog format this year. I have linked that blog on the left side of this page (under links) and hope that you will check out the WCCS Nation Letter!
